Huberspace Backdoor Site Management System Demo

Backdoor is a Web-based content management system, which gives you instant access to content on your Web site. It allows you to add news articles, events, photos, etc., to a database connected to your Web site. You can test out the features in Backdoor, and come back to this demo site to see your changes in action.

Your site doesn't have to function exactly like the demo site - we will custom design the site to your needs. On the demo site, for instance, past events are not displayed, so that only upcoming events are shown. Generally, it's a good idea, but if you want to show past events, we'll gladly program your site that way.

See Backdoor for yourself. (username: "demo", password: "demo", with no quotes)

We have been actively adding more features and upgrading current features to Backdoor - faster than this demo site can keep up with. So when you see what you like, just remember: there's more where that came from. We have recently unveiled Backdoor v2.0, but the Demo doesn't demonstrate most of the new features.

Backdoor features:

These are the admin features we currently offer in Backdoor:

  • Blog: new, by popular demand! Blogs are good for search engines that like frequently updated sites. To prevent your competition from posting bad stuff, you can decide from which posts to allow replies.
  • Company Bios: maintain your company's bios.
  • Documents: create a library of documents that you create/upload/link.
  • Testimonials: show what people are saying about your business
  • Events: let your visitors know when upcoming events, such as an open house, for your business. When an event ends, it can be automatically removed from your site, so that your site is never stale. We are working on adding new RSVP features.
  • Links: maintain your list of links. If they are relevant to your site's content, they can help your search engine rankings.
  • News: got good news? Add your own press releases or link to outside news articles.
  • Petitions: for the activist/political sites. Set up petitions. You decide to whom the petitions are emailed. And take names supporting your cause. Less frequently used for a campaign, but the feature is there.
  • Photo Gallery: create photo galleries and upload photos. Good to show off your products or services in action.
  • Postcards: let your customers spread the word about your products or services. Compose pre-written messages that visitors can send to their friends. Useful to help build your mailing list.
  • Services: maintain text on your company's areas of focus.
  • Survey/Quiz/Poll: make your site more interactive or learn more about your visitors.
  • Volunteer activity: political campaigns and organizations, maintain a list of volunteer activities that your activist visitors can fill out a form to let you know what activities interest them. Volunteers' information is stored in database and can be downloaded in Excel format.
